Mayhem, Why On The Shelf So Long?

Ever wonder where Jason 'Mayhem' Miller went? Last time we saw him in the cage was against the legendary Kazushi Sakuraba where Miller found a win with a triangle choke early in the first round. But, before that, the last time he fought in America under Strikeforce was back in April of 2010. He faced Tim Stout and won via TKO again in the first round.

Questions began to arise, where has Miller been? Well, unfortunately it turns out the reason he has not been back in the cage here in the states are for some very specific reasons. It all boils down to the good old Strikeforce 'Nashville Brawl.' Miller stepped into the cage after Jake Shields got finished destroying Dan Henderson in a five round war for the middleweight belt. Jason asked for a rematch and that's when Melendez and the Diaz brothers came to the aid of Shields and began the tussle with Miller.

This all happened on CBS, a national broadcasting network. It has been come to be discovered that CBS and Showtime banned Miller from their television broadcasts. Because of this, Miller had no way to put himself back in the cage, other than in Japan. This is some interesting news because 'Mayhem' has been running his mouth (like usual) to one specific person, Nick Diaz. Saying again and again, "Don't be scared, homie." Well, it looks like he ran his lips because he, himself knew this fight would never take place. It makes Diaz look like he is backing out of the bout, when in reality Miller cannot be on television and has not beat the caliber Diaz has to warrant a cross-weight bout.

Zuffa came to rescue of Miller when the company acquired Strikeforce last month. This means that Miller will now be pitted into the UFC middleweight division on Pay Per View, Spike TV and possibly The Versus Network. Miller already has a bout scheduled for UFC 132 in which he will square off against Aaron Simpson.
